Vaping is legal in Dubai and has been since 2019. The UAE legalized the sale, possession, and use of vaping products in April of that year. But there's one thing in a vape bag that can end your trip — and it's not nicotine.

Travel Advisory: This article provides general information about vaping-related laws in foreign jurisdictions. Laws, customs regulations, and enforcement practices change frequently and may differ from the information provided. Windbar does not provide legal advice. Before traveling with vaping products, verify current regulations with official government sources for your destination country. What's legal: You can bring your own vape device and e-liquid. You can vape in designated smoking areas. You can buy vape products from licensed shops. The legal age is 18.

What's not legal: Vaping in public places outside designated areas. Vaping in malls, restaurants, or on public transport. Bringing CBD or THC products into the country — even trace amounts in a vape cartridge. This is the one that catches people. UAE customs tests for THC, and the threshold is zero. A CBD vape cartridge that's legal in the UK or US will get you arrested in Dubai.

DXB Airport transit: If you're changing planes at Dubai International and don't leave the airport, UAE law still applies. You're technically on UAE soil. Keep your vape in your carry-on, don't use it in the terminal (unless in a designated smoking lounge), and under no circumstances carry anything with THC.

The advice from every travel guide that says "don't risk it" is wrong. Vaping is legal in Dubai. Just follow the rules: designated areas only, no CBD/THC, and keep your device in your carry-on. It's not complicated.
