Stick: what's the leak actually?

Before you panic, take a look. Half the time it's not a leak — it's condensation. When warm vapor hits the cooler mouthpiece, it turns back into liquid. Wipe the mouthpiece and the air holes with a dry cloth. If the liquid is clear and thin, it's condensation. If it's sticky and sweet, that's e-liquid.

Another common cause is temperature change. If you went from a warm car to the cold outdoors, the juice thins and expands. Let the device sit upright for 15 minutes so excess liquid can settle back into the wick.

Stick: do this first

Grab a paper towel or a lint-free cloth. Dry the mouthpiece and the air intake slots gently — don't push anything inside. Then set the vape upright on a flat surface, away from heat or sunlight. Leave it for 15–20 minutes.

If it's a refillable model like the LINQ-PRO, check that the mouthpiece is screwed on tight. And if you recently refilled, you might have overfilled — wipe the excess and close it again. That's usually the fix.

Stick: avoid that

Don't shake the device. That pushes liquid into the airflow path.

Don't poke anything into the mouthpiece or air holes. You'll push the liquid deeper or damage the coil.

And don't charge a leaking vape. If you see moisture near the charging port, that's a red flag. Liquid plus battery equals a short circuit risk. Retire it.

Also, never attempt to open a disposable vape. These aren't designed to be repaired. Tampering can damage the battery and cause dangerous failures.

Stick: check this

Is the leak recurring? If you've cleaned it, let it rest, and it still leaks within a few hits, the device is likely faulty. Look at the bottom — is there sticky residue around the charging port or seams? That's a sign the internal seal has failed.

Also check your storage. Extreme heat or cold can cause leaks. Don't leave a vape in a car or near a radiator. If multiple devices leak the same way, your storage or the e-liquid itself might be the problem.

Stick: next action

If the leak is minor and stops after cleaning, you're fine — just keep it upright and avoid temperature swings. If it keeps leaking, or liquid shows up near the charging port, stop using it and recycle it properly. Most parts of a disposable vape can be recycled, but check local guidelines. Never throw it in the trash with a battery.

And if you're buying a new one, consider a model known for solid build quality. Some of our own lineup, like the VERTEX-VISTA or LINQ-SLIM, have fewer leak complaints because of their construction. But no vape is leak-proof — proper care matters more than the brand.

Sticky FAQs

Q: Why is my disposable vape leaking?

Usually it's condensation or a temperature change — the vapor inside cools and turns back into liquid. If it's a refillable, it might be overfilled or the coil isn't seated. For disposables, a sudden drop in temperature can thin the juice and cause seepage.

Q: Can I fix a leaking vape at home?

Yes, for minor leaks. Wipe the mouthpiece and air holes with a dry cloth, keep the device upright, and let it rest for 15–20 minutes. If it still leaks, especially from the bottom, you should stop using it.

Q: Is it safe to charge a leaking vape?

No. If you see liquid near the charging port, do not plug it in. Liquid can damage the battery and cause a short circuit. Retire the device and dispose of it properly.
