Heavy smokers (pack-a-day or more) need three things from a vape: fast nicotine delivery, a tight cigarette-like draw, and a device that lasts all day without recharging. Here's the setup that works.

Device: A pod system with a 1000mAh+ battery. The Vaporesso XROS 4, OXVA Xlim Pro 2, and Uwell Caliburn G5 are the top three. All three deliver a tight MTL draw, fast ramp-up, and all-day battery life. The XROS has the best flavor. The Xlim has the best battery efficiency. The Caliburn has the most cigarette-like draw.

E-liquid: 20mg nic salts in a 50/50 PG/VG blend. The high nicotine compensates for the lower delivery efficiency of vaping. The 50/50 ratio ensures proper wicking in pod coils. Tobacco and menthol flavors are the most successful for recent quitters — they mimic the taste profile you're used to.

Coil: 1.0-ohm or 1.2-ohm. The higher resistance produces a tighter draw and cooler vapor, which feels more like a cigarette.

Buy two devices. A heavy smoker will drain a pod system battery by late afternoon. The last thing you want at 4 PM is a dead vape and a pack of cigarettes within reach. Two XROS 4 Minis cost $50 total. That's less than two weeks of cigarettes.
