Walk through any vape trade show floor and you will hear the same flavor descriptors repeated 500 times: "bursting," "explosive," "sweet treat," "candy rush." Every one of those words is a liability.

Here is the thing about adult-market flavor language. Adults do not need to be told something is delicious. They need to be told what it tastes like. "Blueberry ice" is a flavor profile. "Blueberry candy explosion" is a marketing hook that reads like it was written for a 15-year-old. The difference is not semantics. It is the difference between a product page that passes regulatory review and one that gets flagged by an enforcement agency.

Professional flavor description follows a simple structure: primary note, secondary note, finish. "Ripe blueberry with a cool menthol exhale" is specific, descriptive, and adult. It tells the buyer exactly what to expect. It does not use superlatives. It does not reference candy, dessert, or childhood. It treats the buyer like an adult making an informed purchase decision.

The words you avoid matter more than the words you use. "Juicy" is fine. "Juice box" is not. "Sweet" is fine. "Candy-sweet" is not. "Fruity" is fine. "Fruit punch" is walking a line you do not need to walk. The rule is simple: if a phrase would sound natural in a middle school cafeteria, do not put it on your product page.

Adult-market positioning is not about being boring. It is about being precise. A whiskey brand does not describe its product as "a yummy caramel explosion." It describes it as "notes of caramel and oak with a warm finish." Your vape flavor descriptions should aim for the same register. Your customers are adults. Write like it.
