If a supplier or brand uses "FDA Registered" as a selling point for their products, treat it as a warning sign. Here's why:
FDA registration is a facility-level administrative requirement. It means the company or manufacturing facility is registered with the FDA. It says absolutely nothing about whether any specific product is authorized for sale.
Similarly, "PMTA Submitted" means an application was filed — not that it was reviewed, accepted, or approved. Responsible brands will tell you the actual status of their products, not just that they submitted paperwork.
Retailer rule of thumb: If a brand can't show you a specific Marketing Granted Order (with order number, date, and product details), treat the product as unauthorized. Don't take "we submitted a PMTA" as compliance.
