When you see a vape product advertised as 'Florida compliant,' it typically means the manufacturer has registered the product with the state and it appears in the DBPR's authorized product database. But that claim isn't always true. Some sellers say 'Florida compliant' without actually being listed, hoping you won't check.
Compliance managers know that the claim is only as good as the evidence. The real proof is in the database.
In Florida, online sales are restricted to products that appear on the state's authorized list. That list is separate from the FDA's authorization. A product can be FDA-authorized but not state-authorized, or vice versa. So you have to check both.
