Some reports are worse than useless—they're misleading. Here's what to look out for:
The 'pass' only report. It just says 'pass' for every analyte, with no numbers. That's like a doctor saying 'you're healthy' without running any tests.
The 'one size fits all' report. The manufacturer sends you the same report for every product, regardless of flavor or batch. That's a sign they're not testing each product.
The 'too good to be true' report. Everything is 'not detected' even for things that are usually present in trace amounts. That's suspicious.
The expired report. Lab reports have a shelf life. If the report is more than a year old, it's likely out of date.
If you see any of these, treat the report as a red flag. Don't buy until you get a proper one.
